Ontario Soccer League President hanging up his boots
Ontario Soccer League president, Hugh Ferguson, has decided to step off the pitch and hang up his boots, after a 30-year long career in the OSL.
During Ferguson's tenure, he played a key role in creating the OSL in 1988, and then merging it with the former Toronto District Soccer League. This would go on to create a more provincial soccer league that encompasses teams from all over Ontario.
"The Board wants to thank Hugh for his hard work and dedication and for making the league what it is today. We want to wish him all the best in his journey away from the game."
Ferguson decided to step down on May 31, and the OSL Board of Directors have decided to name Dennis Robinson as interim president.
The Board have appointed John Gee as a director for interim.
