Caledon Capture 2017 Frank Docherty Cup
In a battle between two Regional South teams, Caledon came out on top against divisional rival JJD Sports.
The match began with Caledon forcing their way down JJD's channels, crossing lethal passes inside their opponents box. However, JJD's experienced backline were able to rid themselves of any dangerous chances early into the half.
With Caledon pressing hard, Roan Baxter stepped up and slotted home his sides first goal of the match, edging himself inside the penalty area and putting it behind keeper Sherwin Ramsey.
Caledon would enter the half up 1-0 and being rewarded for their attacking prowness over JJD.
The second half would see JJD step up and take more command of the ball, compared to their first half woes.
JJD struggled to get shots on target, and could've put a couple past Caledon keeper Roberto Rufino.
With nothing else to lose, the last 10 minutes of the game saw JJD create a handful of opportunities on goal, their best chance coming in the 85', when Damian Adamson rifled a shot on goal, but was denied by Rufino.
After 90 minutes played and down to 10 men, Caledon were able to hold and secure a 1-0 win over JJD.
Caledon have now finished 1st in the Regional South division with a 11W-5T-2L record.
